Dead and Gone by Charlaine Harris

deadandgoneDead and Gone” is the 9th book in the Southern Vampire Series… a series that I would totally advise anyone who has or has not seen the HBO version “True Blood” to read. I liked this particular book a lot. It was interesting and shocking to see where Harris is taking Sookie and Eric.  Out of all my friends, whom I’ve addicted with the series, I’m the only one who likes bad boys and isn’t rooting for Bill. Which doesn’t mean I’m rooting for Eric either I’m actually a little let down that Sookie isn’t fighting Eric more. I know some people are tired of Sookie being jerked around in-between the men but I’ve enjoyed the conflict and tension between the two in past books.

In fact, when Quinn’s name popped back up in this one… I almost screamed I thought he was gone forever. I’m not holding my breath, I’m sure he’ll end up in the next book. Harris never just mentions someone for no reason.  Which leads me to the faeries. This installment was a little different for me because it went further in explaining Sookie’s faerie roots, while leaving questions unanswered.

In the end, I’m not sure if I like  faeries better than vampires in the plot line but I can say that I liked this book 100% better than “From Dead to Worse” which I thought was a complete flop. Overall, I’ve enjoyed other books in the series more and less than this one so for me “Dead and Gone” fell firmly in the middle of the bookstack.
