Working for the Devil

by Lilith Saintcrow

Pros: The storyline is more dark than your typical paranormal novel
Cons: The only con (is not really a con at all) is the language in her world is a little confusing

I’m a huge LK Hamilton fan (as all know) as well as Kim Harrison and Charlaine Harris so I really enjoyed this. In short, I’m the kind of reader that likes any book romance or otherwise if its more dark than light. If life for the characters dont always work out shiny and perfect. I can tell this series is going to be like that. It has a lot of futuristic action, hot men, butt kicking women and a smattering of magic. This author’s world reminds me a lot of Nalini Singh’s work (if any of you have read her books) except I actually enjoyed these more. I am on book 2 currently and the storyline continues where it leaves off in this book… so far it’s just as good as this one. The only reason I didn’t give this book a 5 for romance is that I wouldn’t really consider it a romance (although it has hot scenes) it would be more of a sci-fi. However, don’t let that stop you, I’m really excited about this series. I’m reading them while my other favorite authors are on a respite and whats even better…they’ve been out long enough to be popping up in libraries and used book stores!
