Kitty and the Midnight Hour

by Carrie Vaughn

Pros: Originality
Cons: Its hard to find in bookstores/libraries.

I found a copy of this book at a used book store and even though the cover looked a little silly, I’d never heard of the author, and the idea of a DJ/werewolf seemed strange, it was cheap so I gave it a try and I must say that I was very happy I did. The character is fun and the story is extremely entertaining. This particular book isn’t very funny, it is more of a drama but the following two novels ‘Kitty Goes to Washington’ and ‘Kitty Takes a Vacation’ are pretty funny. As a romance this novel doesn’t have a lot of sex, although there are sex ‘scenes’ relating to the pack, Kitty does keep love interests in all of the books. I have to say that I didn’t find any of the novels lacking in that area, the story was so good that I really didn’t miss the lack of romance and by ‘Kitty takes a Vacation’ the sexual action gets pretty good.

My expectations for this novel were pretty low and I have to admit publicly that I was wrong. I can’t wait for the next book to come out. If you like werewolf/shapeshifter novels please try these.
