Pros: Good, basic romance
Cons: A little shallow

 
This is your basic cookie-cutter style romance but with a Highlander-esque storyline. The characters are likeable but not especially deep. Things progress about as you might expect.

 
The storyline, though, offers some hints of more maturity to follow, perhaps. Also, this series is a collaboration – the second in the series is by Robin T. Popp, so it will be interesting to see her take on this world.

 
All in all, a decent opener, but it didn’t rock my world. However, I will be interested to see where the series goes with the addition of other authors and new twists in the story. I will definitely pick up the second in the series.
